Before the
Diagnosis.
The conversations nobody has in the clinic room.
The emotions buried before the diagnosis. The resentment, the anger, the grief, the sadness we carry alone. The conversations we were never given permission to have - and what becomes possible when we finally do.
"What were you carrying before you got sick? That is where this conversation begins."
What we carry
before the diagnosis.
Most conversations about illness begin at the diagnosis. This podcast begins earlier. It begins with the question Kyna has been sitting with for years, as a nurse, as a patient, and as a coach: what were we carrying before we got sick?
The resentment we couldn't say out loud. The grief we never fully felt. The anger that had nowhere to go. The sadness we buried because there wasn't time, or space, or permission. The losses - of relationships, of identity, of the life we thought we'd have - that we held alone, in silence, for years.
Over her years as a nurse and her own cancer journey, Kyna began to see correlations. Between the emotions carried and the illnesses that followed. Between the things left unsaid and the body's way of eventually saying them. This is not about blame - it is about possibility.
If emotion buried in the body can contribute to illness, then emotion released from the body can contribute to healing. That is the hope this podcast holds. That by talking about these things openly - by naming the resentment, the anger, the grief, the sadness - we give people the awareness that something can be done. That they are not helpless. That the body can be worked with, not just treated.
Hosted by Kyna - A somatic Embodiment Coach, nurse educator, yoga & breathwork facilitator, living beyond cancer herself - these are the conversations that don't happen in clinic rooms. No toxic positivity. Just honesty, depth, and the quiet, powerful sense that healing is possible.
Emotion buried
doesn't disappear.
It waits, and then over time, you will notice that it then becomes something physical. This podcast is an invitation to look at what you were carrying and to discover that it can be released.
What we carry
alone
Resentment. Anger. Grief. Sadness. Loss. The emotions that had no safe place to land; In relationships, in families, at work and so were buried. Quietly. For years. This podcast names them.
The patterns
Kyna noticed
Over years as a nurse and through her own diagnosis, Kyna began to see correlations between the emotions people carried and the illnesses that followed. Definitely not as blame, but as information. As a map toward healing.
The power to
do something
If buried emotion can contribute to illness, then released emotion can contribute to healing. The purpose of this podcast is to give you that awareness and to show you that you are not helpless. Something can be done.
"By talking about these things - by naming the resentment, the anger, the grief - we make correlations. We find awareness. And awareness is where healing begins."
Kyna
Kyna - Coach, nurse, patient,
truth-teller.
In 2017, at 33, Kyna was diagnosed with breast cancer. After working for 17 years as an emergency nurse, with 12 years in leadership. She knew the system from both sides of the bed.
What she found was a gap. Between the clinical and the human. Between what the system offers and what people actually need. Between the conversations that happen in hospitals and the ones that happen at 3am, in the dark, alone.
This podcast is her answer to that gap. An honest space for the things that don't fit anywhere else.
"The body speaks what the mouth was never allowed to say. And when we finally listen - something shifts."
